Why are you sorry he went with Nikon? I'm not sure why one would be sorry for someone who bought into arguably the best camera brand in the world. Are you a fanboy of some sort? Let's stay on topic here.

Thanks guy, I've had the d60 for a fow months now, takes great pictures, I will post a few of my bect pictures once I get to my laptop. If I had to choose again I would have probably gone towards the d80/d90 for having 9 af points and the built in focusing motor, d60 has 3 af points and no built in. I still love the d60, awesome lcd screen and super light camera. Do plan on purchasing a WIDE ANGLE lens in the near future, meanwhile I will contionue having fun with the 18-55 lens. : )

Wide angle lens... Tokina 12-24 f4 cheaper than the Nikon equivalent but a tad heavy relative tot he DX lenses you may be used to. Works quite well...it's my favorite one I own. A few years back when I bought it I had to wait like 7 months to get it since it was on constant B/O everywhere I looked.

edit...sorry D60, it won't work with your auto focus...

Yes they do have a version of the Tokina 12-24 that has an internal focus motor that WILL auto focus with the entry level Nikons. I bought the one without the motor just recently because it's $100 less and I have a D7000. So I figured I didn't need the motor and would save the $100. But for $499, you can get this lens with the internal focus motor.
