    I can see the validity in having folks hang around a bit. But part of the allure for prospective members can be not only the robustness of the discussions, but also the ease to contribute and get something out of the site. A quick sale is a good experience and why wouldn't that make someone likely to come back? The point being, the minimum to get through the door is not perfect and who knows what the board might be missing because of it.

    It's not like there is a 15 min count to start a new topic anywhere on the forum, just classifides. I'm actually surprised it's only 15 posts. Most of the car audio forums I frequent have 50-100 mins.

    Exactly, you can immediately tell that there's either a spammer or someone trying to hock parts because when you hit "New Posts" you see one name after every other thread, and it's all 2 word responses to 6 month old posts: "taight ride!" "sweet bro!" "clean yo" etc.
