View Full Version : August 2006 Car of the Month - leemik

08-15-2006, 06:43 AM
Yes, yes, I know... we're a little late this month, but trust me it is worth it because we have a sweet 350Z for this month!

ChicagoZ.com :What got you hooked to the 350Z that you ended up purchasing it?
leemik : In the 90's I had an obsession with the 300ZX TT.. but sadly I could never afford one before they went away. When the 350z came around I did finally have the means to own one and I did!

ChicagoZ.com :What action does your 350Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...
leemik : It's mostly a garage queen/weekend car. I live in the northeast and you really can only drive this car 6 months out of the year. But even with it's high state of mods, the car is very balanced and streetable. I really enjoy driving it.

ChicagoZ.com :Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...
leemik : I've never run my Z at any kind of track.. maybe I will someday but it's not a priority for me.. I am hesitant to do this because I have run some previous cars I've owned hard at the track and have broken a lot of things.. I just don't want to subject the Z to the same treatment. As for dyno numbers, the car put down 394WHP/329WTQ on a dynojet last Nov.

ChicagoZ.com :What other modifications are you planning on doing to the 350Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....
leemik : A pair of Bride XAX II seats are supposed to arrive on Aug 17th. I've been waiting forever for those. I've spent enough on the car as it is and I think after the seats I'm going to stop. There's nothing more I need to do to the car except drive it.

How much you cost that lcd display and what pc you have in car
LCD cost $275.. The PC I built myself like 2 years ago now.. Click here (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32479) for the gory details.. I used to be featured on the front page of http://www.mp3car.com for the longest time but they took it down finally last month lol

awesome ride. congrats mike!!!

08-15-2006, 08:30 PM
^^ thanks man!

so whats hapend when you turn off you car. pc stil runing ?? When you shut off the ignition source, the OPUS DC to DC powersupply issues a shutdown to the OS.. it then has 2 min to fully shutdown or power is cut..

when you turn on the car..OPUS issues a startup and give the PC power..

This is why I <3 Redline 350Z's. And if I had a 350Z, I'd probably build it EXACTLY as you did, for what it's worth... maybe someday your car will have a twin... with likely higher mileage, because I'm an advocate of actually using the sports cars
