View Full Version : January '06 Car of the Month - tip

A little late, but here's is you Car of the Month for January 2006!

ChicagoZ.com: What got you hooked to the Z that you ended up purchasing it?

tip: I was always a fan of the Z since high school. Heck, even before I knew better, as a child, my favorite Transformers were Bluestreak and Prowl, both S130s (280ZX). I ended up buying a Z32, after some months of searching. I couldn't have found a better deal elsewhere, even to this very day.

ChicagoZ.com: What action does your Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...

tip: I built the car to be a casual event participant, and an enjoyable street car. The modifications to the car reflect that, and I'm happy with its performance so far. The car sees occasional drag strip events, weekend cruises, and is almost driven daily in summer.

ChicagoZ.com: Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...

tip: I drag raced it many times when it was close to stock; I pulled a best of 13.691 @ 105.930 mph on the vanilla turbos back then. Since the current TD05/850cc setup, I haven't gotten a chance to see how it performs. Perhaps this summer.

ChicagoZ.com: What other modifications are you planning on doing to the Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....

tip: The car's nearly at a final state where I'm happy with it. This is definitely good, as my wallet can't handle any more; I recently bought a house which changes everything financially. I might spend some money on an air/fuel controller, dyno time, and tires, but that's about it.

ChicagoZ.com: Won any awards? Have any sponsorships?

tip: Not yet - hopefully soon!

My car has the "all-black" powder coated stock Z33 wheels.

Without a doubt, an awesome Z33. It has my vote for the car of any month, IMO.

Oh man, that video clip brings me flashbacks of last summer. I'm getting antsy for the weather to get better.... Also worth watching for an appearance by Mario as well (silver Z33 with hood spacers).

Oh yeah, Mario has the Bugatti Veyron hood setup :bandito:

Nice ZX! One of my favorites. The wheels also look real nice on the car.
