View Full Version : Question for you guys...

Lately I've had a few clients ask whether or not I take credit card payments. Up to now, I've only rarely thought about it, but seeing as how there are more and more clients asking about it, I'll probably set up a cc system soon.

Just wanted to get the members' opinion on here. Would credit card payments be something you guys/gals would find more convenient and helpful or is it something that doesn't matter much to you?

Any other input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ivan

Of course. Some people don't even carry cash on them since they have their debit card.

Agreed, you might want to look at this product...GoPayment for iPhone.

Recently PSI DSS approved which means a third party certified security of the software.

i have no money so i buy everything on credit.... rimz, exhausts, turbos, bling watches....

seriously though, credit card is way more convenient... especially with the limits banks put on cash station withdrawals. some are as low as $200.

Totally agree. Some people never have cash on hand.

Thanks a lot for all the thorough and quick responses. I ended up going with www.squareup.com and I'm liking their software so far. I'm waiting for the little reader to come in the mail but the key-in on the software is working flawlessly.

Well... LUSTR now accepts credit cards

im moving to either gopayment or squareup. havent decided yet. i have an expensive ass terminal at the shop that is currently expiring in its compatibility with some new security crap and it wont be working much longer according to my current processor. fuck them anyway, their fees have climbed steady and after all the bullshit interstate charges im getting hit like 7% versus the 2%ish that they claim. I have even considered just going to paypal virtual terminal.

Is it too late to say yes? lol. There is one place on my campus, a little chinese restaurant that doesn't take credit cards. Most annoying thing in the world. First couple times I went there I always forgot to bring cash.

It doesn't help that I'm poor too.

You would be lucky to find me with more than $50 in my pocket. So +1

What are the fees with square up and go payment?

Some people refuse credit cards because its a little easier on your taxes, if u know what I mean.

The only fees with Squareup are the transaction fees... 2.75% + $0.15 for a swipe and 3.5% + $0.15 for key-in. Other than that, card reader is free, setup is free and while I haven't done it yet, I heard from sources using it that transfer of funds to your bank account is free.
