ChicagoZ.com : What got you hooked to the 300Z that you ended up purchasing it?

Ahmed : I remember loving the Z32 when they first came out when I was just a kid. But I really got hooked to Z32's in 1999 when it was time to get my first car. My little brother actually made me realize it. My first Z32 was a non-turbo automatic I got in 1999. I then bought a 5 speed non-turbo 2+2 in September 2003. As I got more into the Z scene, I became obsessed and actually learned to work on the car myself. I decided it was time to get a Twin Turbo and bought my current Twin Turbo in August 2006. Having owned 3 Z32's over the past 9 years, I know plenty about them and will always own one no matter what. The Z family and Z scene is like no other.

ChicagoZ.com : What action does your 300Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...

Ahmed : My Twin Turbo was a TRUE daily driver ever since I bought her in 2006. I did show her in various car shows and took home a few trophies in the Daily Driver category. When I moved to Chicago in July, I knew I would not be able to daily drive the car in the winter. Now that I just bought a Maxima as a daily driver, the Z has become my weekend car. She will sit through the winter and come out in the summer for cruises, shows, track days, and spirited driving.

ChicagoZ.com : Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...

Ahmed : My TT has an intake, exhaust, JWT ECU, Nismo 615cc injectors, and boost jets running about 15psi. With these mods, the car should be at about 320rwhp (although I have not dyno-ed the car yet).

ChicagoZ.com : What other modifications are you planning on doing to the 300Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....

Ahmed : My winter project is to bling out the engine bay with chrome. I will take my time and have some fun with it.

Performance-wise, I don't have any plans in the near future. However, sometime down the road I want to upgrade to JWT 530 Ball Bearing Turbos, Mike Smith Manifolds, downpipes/testpipes, bigger intercoolers, a boost controller, etc. I'd like to get a nice set of coilovers as well. Sometimes, you don't think you are going to do any upgrades and it just happens. So, we'll see.

Complete list of mods:

-JWT Intake

-JWT ECU (w/Boost Jets)

thanks everyone for all the comments...glad to join the car of the month club...and while i'm at it, thanks to the club and everyone in it who has made my move to Chicago that much more enjoyable...although this freakin snow and cold is new to me and will take a while to get used to!

Right on Ahmed! Hopefully this makes up for Texas not making it to the National Championship Game! :)

while i'm honored to be the car of the month, only a trip to the championship next year can make up for my Longhorns being screwed by the voters, the Big 12, and the BCS

Congrats and welcome to the club!

You can't fool me...I know why it's going to take time to bling out the engine compartment. It's too frickn cold in your garage and your fingers keep freezing everytime you pick up a wrench. :jk: Welcome again to Chicago, Spring will be here soon, (not really but didn't want to depress you). :)

Well to make a long story short. I got it from Branden, and I kinda split it down the back.

"Big guy in a little coat!"

Ask G if he has another one.

Congrats from one Z32TT owner to another. I've seen pics of your car from some of the local Chicago events this Summer. Very nice. I missed most of the meets this year due to scheduling conflicts but I will be back in 2009. Look for my pearl white TT with bronze wheels next year!
